19 Weeks!

Sorry for the AWFUL picture- it's the only one I have from this week!

How far along? 19 weeks and 6 days. (since I'm late on this post it's now 20 weeks!)
Total weight gain: 5 lbs
Maternity Clothes? Yes, if I'm not wearing maternity shorts my belly button shows through my shirt.
Stretch Marks? Nope! My skin has started getting super itchy this week though, yuck!
Sleep? better this week, but still not awesome. I seem to be up around 5-6 every morning when I don't need to be up then. :(
Best moment this week: MANY best moments this week. I think I'll just write a list:
- my mom was able to find baby's heartbeat and give me a monitor strip. I hadn't felt baby move all week so I was quite worried (I know, it's still early, but it's had not to think something is wrong after two losses!). I was lucky enough that my mom is a L&D nurse and had access to the equipment to ease my mind and have that special moment with her.
- Paul feeling his first HUGE movement of baby. I could see the movement outside my belly and called him over. He was quick enough to catch baby kneeing me big time (at least I think it was a knee?)
- Seeing our sweet baby on ultrasound and finding out the gender! Another post to come on this whole event!
- buying the first clothes for baby in gender specific colours!
- our mini vacation to MI before Paul goes back to school.
- getting more stuff for the nursery!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Miss anything? Nothing!
Movement? Some days I feel more than others, but yes most days!
Food cravings? Hi-Chew. It's a candy we had for the first time in California and it isn't sold in Canada. My grandma recently visited CA and brought me a Costco bag back. The baby loves it, every time I eat some it kicks and kicks!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing I can think of!
Have you started to show yet? Yes! More people asking me when I am due now. It's nice to know I don't just look like I ate one too many cupcakes.
Gender: We know, but our family doesn't so the big reveal will come sometime next week!
Symptoms: Tired, getting dizzy if I stand too long, still the head rushes.
Happy or moody most of the time? both this week!
Labor Signs: No!
Belly Button in or out? both!
Looking forward to: Telling our family the gender of baby P!

18 Weeks!

How far along? 18 weeks and 6 days!!
Total weight gain/loss: 4 lbs! yay!
Maternity Clothes? yup!
Stretch Marks? Nope!
Sleep? This week has been terrible in this category. I can't seem to find a comfortable position, all I want to do is lay on my back which is extremely uncomfortable at this point. booo.
Best moment this week: setting up our crib and change table in the nursery and getting new cell phones! We both got new phones with much better cameras in them. Ready to catch all those precious moments once baby gets here.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: finding out the gender next week!!!! I can hardly believe we are at this point. Amazing!
Miss anything? Sleep :(
Movement? on and off this week,  couldn't feel it at all for 2 days. By day 3 I was getting very anxious about it and felt a tiny flutter while emptying the dishwasher, hopefully I wasn't just imagining it. lol
Food cravings? still fruit and dill pickle crispy minis.
Anything making you queasy or sick? still my prenatal. yuck
Have you started to show yet? yes! Although I feel like my belly has stalled in growth a bit.
Gender: We don't know yet (Next week!!!), I guess girl and Paul guesses boy.
Symptoms: sleeplessness (is that even a word? I'm to tired to know:| )
Happy or moody most of the time? both this week.
Labor Signs: No!
Belly Button in or out? still half popped.

Ladies, if you were ever wondering how to be the center of attention at the beach I found the answer. Go when you're pregnant! We had a wonderful time with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend at the beach this weekend!

17 Weeks

How far along? 17 weeks 6 days!
Total weight gain/loss:still just 1 lb
Maternity Clothes? yup, I even had to wear my jeans this week it was so chilly. Weird for August!
Stretch Marks? Nope!
Sleep? Awful. I toss and turn all night. This week it seems all I want to do is sleep on my belly which is obviously not possible.
Best moment this week: Seeing our baby on ultrasound! They were checking my amniotic fluid levels- all is good! Another great moment was getting the nursery started! Pics below.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: The big ultrasound in two weeks! I can't wait to see our baby again, find out the gender and make sure baby P is growing properly.
Miss anything? sleep.
Movement? Everyday now! I'm so thankful for these little movements. They are sure a reassurance that baby is actually in there!
Food cravings? Lots of fruit this week, yum!
Anything making you queasy or sick? I have been a little nauseous this week. One night I woke up and swore I was going to be sick. Luckily I was able to breath through it.
Have you started to show yet? YupMaybe it's time to take this question out, lol!
Gender: We don't know yet, I guess girl and Paul guesses boy.
Symptoms: Tired, I felt like a zombie for a lot of this week. Yuck. Also still getting these awful head rushes. Other than this I'm feeling great.
Happy or moody most of the time? This week was quite emotional for me being the anniversary of our first lost pregnancy so it's hard to say whether my moodiness came from that or hormones- likely both.
Labor Signs: No!
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie-outie.

We bought the baby a couple book this week in preparation of next week when he/she begins to hear! I couldn't resist The Tooth Book being a Dental Hygienist. So cute!

I've been looking for a set of alphabet blocks this week. Haven't been able to find any that I like in store, I have found some on Etsy but they coat way more than I would like to spend. I found these adorable nursery rhyme blocks at Chapters this week on clearance.

The before shot of our baby's room!

After the paint! Love how it turned out and my hubby for doing such a wonderful job!

One Year Later

Last year on this day we were told that our first pregnancy was not viable. It was life changing news. We still love and miss our first baby. Not a day goes by that I don't imagine where our lives would be if we had a healthy 4 month old right now.  In ways we have healed and in others we haven't. I was not happy with the way our first miscarriage was managed. I still am sad my uterine septum wasn't found at this time, as it could have saved us the heart ache of our second loss and would have given us some explanation for the loss.

Today, exactly one year later we were able to see our healthy baby moving around with a beautiful heartbeat. We had our first OB appointment today. It was very reassuring. Our OB is great. He gave us a new sense of hope that although I am high risk, things should be okay. We had a portable ultrasound done and could see the baby sucking and even saw the baby have a hiccup. We saw the little feet. I remember when the whole baby was the size it's foot is now. Amazing how fast they grow! The heart is so big now and is even visible on the picture we got. I am very thankful we were given this ultrasound and a little picture.

17 week update to come soon!

16 Weeks!

How far along? 16 weeks and 6 days :D
Total weight gain/loss: 1 lb, down from last week. Weird.
Maternity Clothes? Yes! Most of my shirts are far too short now.
Stretch Marks? Nope!
Sleep? great this week!
Best moment this week: Paul feeling the baby move for the first time. What a blessing! We didn't expect him to feel it for many weeks but think that my uterine septum made it possible to feel earlier since baby has less room in there.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: Our first OB appointment next week and starting the nursery!
Miss anything? Being able to partake in all the water activities. We were at a family friend's cottage this weekend and I really wanted to see if I could wakeboard still! I wasn't able to do anything last year either since I was pregnant with our first.
Movement? I have been able to feel baby dancing around in there almost daily!
Food cravings? Nothing weird this week although I am noticing I need to eat much more frequently.
Anything making you queasy or sick? I started gagging again this week. boo, I thought I was done with this after my first trimester.
Have you started to show yet? yes! Much more obvious that I am pregnant now. I love it!
Gender: We don't know yet, I guess girl and Paul guesses boy.
Symptoms: beautiful nails! I have never had nails this strong and long in my life. Love it. I have had some cramping this week as well, likely from all this growth the baby is doing!
Happy or moody most of the time? both this week. If I'm tired (which is basically all the time) I seem to be moody. blah.
Labor Signs: No!
Belly Button in or out? popping more and more by the day. I didn't think it happened this early. oh well!

As always, more photos from this week!
