The Waiting Game
Well we have officially made it to 39 weeks and 1 day, or January 10, aka my guessed arrival date for our little bundle. It's also pretty official that I lost at the guessing game, although I still have a chance to be right at the weight! My guess there is 7 lbs 6 oz.
As of Monday I have been very much over this whole pregnancy thing. I still love that I am able to do most things with ease (except put on any article of clothing below my waist) but I am so looking forward to meeting our little girl. After all, there is only so much nesting a woman can do before you are just ready. After our false labour scare at 35 weeks, I kicked into high gear getting all of my before baby check list complete. The freezer has been full for weeks (and is now missing over half the muffins since they were so delish, guess that's something I could do while I anxiously wait), all of her personalized items have been made with love and care, her clothes have been washed and organized, the hospital bags have been packed and her birth announcement envelopes have all been addressed. All that's left to do is wait and wonder when she will make her grand entrance to the world.
I never imagined what this would feel like. I always thought I would be having this baby weeks early, especially since that is one of the risk factors with a uterine septum. Now here I am, only 6 days from my due date and I can't think of anything else other than when she will arrive.
Usually Paul and I like to stay pretty busy, have plans for most of our weekends and don't spend too much time sitting around, but since it is so close to our due date, we have nothing planned this weekend. It's a weird feeling! We are going to take advantage of what little time we have left as a couple since next weekend we could very well (hopefully will be) a family of three.
Tonight we will go out for dinner and do some mall walking to try to get this baby moving or at the very least try to burn off some of the Cadbury Fingers I have been eating by the dozens over the last three days in a last ditch effort to take advantage of my guilt free pregnancy eating. Tomorrow we will likely spend the day getting things around the house done, get the hospital bags and car seat down on the main floor, wash the windows and catch up on laundry in hopes that I won't be too far behind on these things when she arrives. Sunday will bring church and a day of relaxation and some football I'm sure. Then Monday the waiting game will be back on!
We are so ready for you Stella!
